The Immigrant Justice program is built on a foundation of human rights principles and values. Human rights do not begin or end at a country's border. This program began in response to six anti-immigrant bills at the 2007 Montana Legislative Session as well as the dehumanizing and marginalizing debate around comprehensive immigration reform in the summer that followed. The Network's immigrant justice program works to educate Montanans on the complexity of the US immigration system, the root causes of the ebbs and flows of immigration, and provide analysis of what just immigration policy looks like. The immigrant justice program aims to create welcoming communities for immigrants throughout Montana by holding educational events, analyzing policy, and expanding the base of support for immigrant communities across the state.
