Skinhead Charged with Hate CrimeIn early April, Christopher Lehman of Billings was charged with a hate crime in district court. He allegedly shot an African American man in the leg with a BB gun from a second-story apartment. The incident took place in early October. The victim confronted a group of skinheads a couple of weeks after he was shot. He had seen them hanging around the apartment building and believed them to be responsible. He also saw a Confederate flag hanging in the window of the apartment where he believed the shots originated. Police questioned the skinheads and were told that Lehman bragged about the shooting. They also told police that he shot the man because the victim was black. A date has not been set for Lehman's trial.
