The Global Justice Action Summit:

Montanans are invited to the Global Justice Action Summit that will be held in Missoula on June 20-24. It will feature local and international speakers, panels, action workshops as well as a banquet, a sustainability festival of exhibits and games, music, a peace ceremony and finally a caravan to Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.

The Global Justice Action Summit is sponsored by "Partners of Social Justice and Sustainable Communities," a coalition of over 40 local organizations and businesses committed to social justice, sustainable agriculture and the environment. Keynote speakers include: Walden Bello, Focus on the Global South, and Kevin Danahar, founder of Global Exchange, San Francisco. Montana speakers include: Helen Waller, Mae Nan Ellingson, Ken Toole and Scott Nicholson.

The forum will be organized around four themes: Human Rights, Global Justice, the Environment, and Agriculture. Thursday and Friday forums will be at the University of Montana. Saturday's forum and banquet will be at First United Methodist Church.

The Sustainability Fair and Festival will be at Caras Park and will culminate in an evening of music and fun. The events are open to all at no or nominal cost. Further information can be found on the website, http://www.globaljas.org or by calling (406) 541-2001.
