Ms. Molly Goes to Washington

Helena High School sophomore Molly Madden is going to Washington, D.C. to meet   President Clinton and talk about racism and hate crimes.  This is no small honor for anyone, let alone a 15-year-old student. The conference is part of the President's pledge to address hate crimes and intolerance in our society.
It  all began when Molly went to a youth conference sponsored by the Northwest Coalition Against Malicious Harassment in Jackson Hole, Wyoming this summer. At the conference a number of students began working on a response to President Clinton's November conference.  With the help of the Network staff and senator Max Baucus, Molly was invited to attend the conference in D.C.  She is one of only three youths invited to attend the 200-person conference.
Molly, along with other students, has started a human rights youth group in Helena.  They have a laundry list of activities planned, including a Ska Against Bigotry concert, co-sponsored by the Network.
Congratulations Molly, and keep up the important work.
